What are you talking about?

The world of E-cigarettes is full of Jargon. Terms, that to most people, mean absolutely nothing.

Mouth to Lung, Sub Ohm, Nic Salt, Coil, PG, VG, all terms most people have no idea about. At The Ecigbox we try and avoid using these terms and use 'normal' language.

But in-case you were wondering, here's a run down of what some of these, often bizarre, terms mean.

Coil - This is the part of the e-cigarette that heats up to turn your e-liquid into 'vape' (Vapour you exhale). It will come with an OHM rating (see below) and a wattage range (see below)

Ohm - Literally, it's a measure of electrical resistance, in Vaping terms, it gives you an idea of how Powerful a coil may be. The lower that number, the higher the wattage and usually the bigger your cloud.

Sub-Ohm - Literally, any coil below 1 ohm (0.6, 0.15 etc). However, in reality, sub ohm vaping creates big clouds, it's usually coils 0.4 and below.

Coil Wattage - Coils come with a recommended wattage to use them on (it's usually a range for example, 25-35w). If your vaping device is adjustable (see below) you simply ensure coil is used at the recommended wattage. Many devices, such as the Aspire Pockex and Minican have no adjustment and will automatically set the correct wattage for you.

Adjustable Wattage - Many devices you can 'turn up and down'. They will have buttons on the side to allow you to do this. Many people describe it as turning up (or down) the power.

PG/VG (70/30 50/50) - E-liquid is made up of 4 ingredients - Polypropylene Glycol (PG)

- Vegetable Glycerine (VG)

- Flavour

- Nicotine (if sold in bottles 10ml or lower)

Put simply, the higher the VG, the thicker the liquid, the higher wattage (see above) it can be used.

Terms like 50/50, 70/30 and 60/40 are the ratio between PG and VG. The higher the FIRST number the higher the Vegetable Glycerine, the thicker the liquid.

We don't recommend using a liquid with a VG content lower that 50 (for example 30VG/70PG) on any device. Hangsen Liquids, for example, have a 20/80 mix, yes they cost very little, however, you will use them much quicker, ultimately, it will be false economy, as you will use far more than 50/50 liquids such as Oasis, Liberty Flights, Wizmix or Halo. These liquids also contain better flavourings, so you will have a better vaping experience.

Nicotine Level/Nic Salts - Simple one, 10ml bottle come in 3mg, 6mg, 12mg, 18mg. The higher the number, the more nicotine in the bottle.

Nic Salts come in two strengths 10mg and 20mg. The principle is the same, however, quality nic salts are generally much smother that regular e-liquids.

Any bottle above 10ml in size must have the nicotine added to it (see short fill below)

Short fill/Bigger bottle - Short fills are so named as the manufacturers, don't fill a bottle of 50ml/100ml liquid to the top.

This allows a bottle of Nicotine (a Nic shot) to be added.

One nic shot bottle in a 50ml e-liquid make it 3mg.

This is done due to regulations not allowing bottles of E-liquid, over 10ml, to contain nicotine.

At The Ecigbox, we believe this is stupid and creates a bigger environmental problem, due to the increased number of plastics used. To combat this problem and try to assist, The Ecigbox will take any used bottles you have to have them recycled in the correct way.
